If I am unfamiliar with a client, I usually meet with him/her once, obtain a close-up photo and ask a few questions, or leave them with a questionnaire to fill out and return to me. My clients are never with me when I paint their soul essence portrait.
After entering into a meditation in the sacred space of my studio/sanctuary, I energetically connect our hearts, higher selves, and God selves. I ask for guidance and let spirit move through my body and flow out of my hands. I paint not with my ego mind, but with the spirit of Infinite Oneness running through me and directing the progress of the work.
The whole process may require several 2 hour sessions, usually on consecutive days. Then I sit with the painting and ask to receive the meanings encoded in it for the client. This channeling includes the meanings of the colors, composition, symbols and sacred geometries represented. This written portion of the soul essence portrait is very important for the client to fully absorb the effects of the artwork.
Portraits are painted on a half-sheet of watercolor paper, 15" high x 22" across. I deliver it ready for framing. My fee is currently $300 - $350.
