Freedom

Freedom
Watercolor by Lyn Mason, July 2008
Defined by the Artist: Freedom is the nature of Life's energy, which expresses as intelligence and awareness. So freedom exists within and without all living things, both seen and unseen. On this third dimensional plane, however, we have largely lost consciousness of our spiritual source and have come to identify freedom as a goal that exists outside of ourselves, dependent on outer conditions. In truth, it lies within us as the flowing spaciousness of the Universe within, beyond the compulsive, struggling mind. Freedom is unveiled to the open heart that lovingly urges the ego to let go of the illusion of separateness from the Creator, and courageously journey within to find the treasure of the Kingdom of God. This is the choice to claim our divine inheritance.

The key to experiencing freedom is consciously allowing ourselves to be still and present in the moment. For in this moment is all that is real, and therein we remember and reclaim our spiritual essence. Letting go of our identification with our personality, we float in spaciousness, timelessness and the unconditional love of our benevolent Universe. Thus the illusion of the third dimension lifts to reveal the comfort and grace of God's eternal embrace in the Universe within. This inner freedom is of the Soul, whose light shines more brightly within us as we grow in conscious awareness and take responsibility for our spiritual growth.

The conscious decision to gently surrender the ego mind and its illusion of control leads to a glimpse of the perfection and safety of Life itself. The individual who can consistently experience this inner freedom does not rely on outer conditions to freely express him/her self or contribute his/her light to the world. Merging with the Higher Self, the truly free being is radiant and expansive in nature and moves confidently, responsibly and compassionately through life with deep abiding trust in Divine Order.

Inner freedom, this blissful feeling of wholeness, balance, and safety, is the prize discovered through practicing the “art of being”, which unveils the peace filled harmony of the present moment. When we merge with our Source in this way, we help create Heaven on Earth, and all is truly well.
