Courage
Watercolor by Lyn Mason, January 2007
Defined by the Artist: To be courageous is not to live without fear, but to move through fear with heartfelt trust in God’s will for the highest good in every situation. True courage requires the willingness to listen and surrender to God’s guidance, as well as the strengths of conviction and perseverance. It motivates us to make that first step toward a goal. That goal may be anything: a hope, a dream, or perhaps to know one’s self or forgive another. Courage provides the impulse toward that end, like a light stepping out into the darkness of the unknown. God blessed us with the choice to use courage as a means to demonstrate true power, which is the power to create or transform our reality. With courage we can discover our life’s path, its purpose and meaning, and we can reclaim our innate perfect wholeness. Without it, we may believe we are victims of circumstance. To choose courage as an ally to faith is to guarantee life to be rich with possibilities and adventure. But more important than this is the truth that the courage and integrity of a few can generate the power to affect change for the good of all beings. Courage, aligned with a pure desire to do God’s will, is therefore a catalyst for the transformative healing that will lead to the manifestation of Heaven on Earth.
